Jeff Bezos's Divorce & Alleged Secret Relationship!

What led to the split of Jeff and Mackenzie Bezos?

Who knew about the Amazon leader’s romance with Lauren Sanchez?

Find out as we look at Jeff Bezo’s Divorce & Alleged Secret Relationship With Lauren Sanchez.

#8 Social Media Announcement On January 9 of this year, Jeff Bezos and his wife of 25 years, Mackenzie, released a joint statement through Twitter announcing their intentions to divorce.

In this message, the couple declared that the decision came after “a long period of loving exploration and trial separation,” indicating that they had been dealing with differences well before their decision to divorce.

Despite the sullen nature of the announcement, Jeff and Mackenzie seemed ready to continue their relationship in the form of an amicable friendship.

“We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and deeply grateful for every one of the years we have been married to each other,” the message stated.

If they could go back in time knowing that they would split after 25 years of marriage, they “would do it all over again.” #7 Extramarital Reports Just hours after the announcement of his divorce, the National Enquirer broke a story reporting that Jeff Bezos had been dating former host of the celebrity news show Extra and Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance, Lauren Sanchez.

Sanchez, at the time, was married to Patrick Whitesell, who is a Hollywood talent agent, entertainment agency CEO, and friend of Bezos.

The story cited various glimpses of Bezos and Sanchez across five different states, attending different restaurants, hotels, and private locations.

They also reported that Whitesell and Mackenzie Bezos had known of this relationship since the fall of 2018.

Not long after this initial report, a flurry of other details began to come out from the National Enquirer, painting a much different picture of the split from the statement released earlier that day.

This dichotomy gave birth to a notion on social media that the self-released statement through Twitter was but a ploy to control the narrative of their divorce.

Consciously choosing to break up on good terms isn’t unheard of, especially in modern times.

But other positives can be gained from this decision, especially with Mackenzie and Jeff Bezos serving as business partners and co-investors in various charity organizations.

Needless to say, this report by the National Enquirer threw a wrench in the message the Bezos family was looking to announce, but the timing of their statement also hints that they knew about the potential magazine story beforehand.

#6 Text Message Evidence In the later reports released by the National Enquirer, among the details shared were a series of scandalous texts and selfies sent by Bezos to Sanchez long before the announcement of their divorce.

These text messages were filled with heavily flirtatious, verging on sleazy, phrases.

 “I love you, alive girl.

I will show you with my body, and my lips and my eyes, very soon,” one message read.

Another one of Bezos' messages told of wanting to get inebriated with Sanchez before boldly exclaiming “I basically WANT TO BE WITH YOU!!!”

Pictures that accompanied these messages have been said to be majorly shirtless and some even go so far as to earn an X-rating with graphic depictions of his private parts proudly on display.

These would be fairly normal acts of technologically supported intimacy by modern standards, and totally justifiable given Bezos' self-released statement explaining he and Mackenzie had attempted trial separations prior to their announced divorce.

However, according to the National Enquirer, these messages and pictures date as far back as April 2018, long before the fall in which Sanchez and Bezos were said to have started dating.

Even worse, Jeff and Mackenzie were seen together in Miami in September of last year, celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary!

 #5 Tabloid Troubles

After the details of his supposedly illicit relationship were reported by the National Enquirer, Jeff Bezos wrote a blog post claiming the magazine’s publisher American Media Inc., or AMI, attempted to extort him prior to their articles.

Bezos alleged that AMI threatened him with the release of the various private photos he had sent Sanchez.

In addition to photos of him, AMI and the National Enquirer also indicated they were in possession of lewd pictures of Sanchez as well.

These details were communicated to Bezos, an investigator he hired, and his legal representatives via email, along with another email detailing a list of demands to keep them from being published.

But in an attempt to not buckle to the pressures of “extortion and blackmail”, as he put it, Bezos posted the emails in full to his blog post, exposing the true intent of the magazine publisher.

He went on to explain that what they sought in exchange for not releasing these images to the public was for the Washington Post, which Bezos owns, to halt investigative coverage of AMI and deny that the National Enquirer could have any alternative motives than pure journalistic responsibility.

Bezos wrote in his blog post that he believes AMI to think their offer was too good to reject, and as such, they provided this blatant evidence in written form.

Bezos, however, isn’t ready to lie down for the tabloid titan as he continues his private investigation into the truth behind AMI’s intentions.

#4 Political Repercussions The contempt felt by President Donald Trump towards the Washington Post and owner Jeff Bezos is no secret.

He often tweets malicious and underhanded shots at the billionaire, even taking a shot at Bezos just four days after the announcement of his divorce and the concurrent reports.

“So sorry to hear the news about Jeff Bozo being taken down by a competitor whose reporting, I understand, is far more accurate than the reporting in his lobbyist newspaper, the Amazon Washington Post,” President Trump tweeted.

“Hopefully the paper will soon be placed in better & more responsible hands!” These types of insults towards Bezos, the Washington Post, and any publication critical of the politician have been typical of his first term as president, and that fact hasn’t gone unnoticed by Bezos.

In his blog post exposing AMI, Bezos also touched on the publishing company’s political ties.

American Media owner David Pecker recently received immunity from the Department of Justice on his role in catching stories that could have harmed President Trump during his election campaign...and squashing them before they got to print.

It has been reported in the New York Times that in order to reward Pecker for his loyalty, President Trump held a White House dinner in his honor.

To complicate matters further, Pecker was said to have brought a guest with close ties to Saudi Arabian royalty to the event.

This coincides with federal and journalistic investigations that have proved AMI to engage in ethically questionable practices, including previewing a pro-Saudi magazine to the nation’s royalty long before it hit newsstands three months later.

These suspicious details are thought by Bezos to be the reason behind AMI’s alleged extortion attempts.

#3 Sharing the Wealth As the world’s richest person worth well over a hundred billion dollars, Jeff Bezos'

empire has a lot to lose...especially since he and Mackenzie did not sign a prenuptial agreement.

Sporting a net worth of 131.5 billion dollars as of early February, the Amazon founder and business magnate currently owns a 16 percent stock share in the massive company he helped create.

Given his divorce, though, this percentage stands to lessen considerably.

Bezos resides in Washington, which is a community property state.

This means all assets acquired throughout their marriage are shared and would need to be split equally between Jeff and Mackenzie.

 This includes Bezos' Amazon holdings.

Perhaps even more devastating on his personal fortune are the potential consequences his companies face for his perceived infidelity.

Aside from public opinion affecting sales and business relations, there’s also the possibility that stockholders may begin to question Bezos’ ability to lead and who is truly in charge.

This issue often leads to a plunge in stocks.

On top of that, many wealthy CEOs that experience a divorce can end up struggling to run their businesses while enduring the emotional trials and distractions associated with divorce.

Amazon is just one of Bezos’ ventures, though.

He also owns an aerospace company called Blue Origin that’s in the process of developing reusable rockets for sending public passengers into orbit, and of course The Washington Post.

Should Mackenzie be awarded 50% of their joint estate, Jeff Bezos would no longer be the richest man in the world, forsaking the title to former frontrunner Bill Gates.

He wouldn’t even be in the top five, ranking just above fellow tech-based billionaire Mark Zuckerberg who has a net worth of 61 billion dollars.

#2 Public Appearances For months, Bezos and Lauren Sanchez attended dinner and hotels in public with a photo of the two making the New York Post’s Page Six dating back to April of last year.

Since the announcement of the Bezoses break up, though, Jeff and Lauren have begun to gradually make their relationship purposely public.

As Bezos received an aviation award in January, Sanchez made sure to dodge the paparazzi at the Living Legends of Aviation red-carpet event, sneaking into the Beverly Hills venue to witness her new beau’s moment of triumph.

Given the recency of the news, Bezos and Sanchez hoped to show respect to their families by refraining from appearing together.

This restraint can only last so long though, and with all parties in the know about their relationship since last autumn, it is only a matter of time before they begin openly attending events together.

The two appeared at the latest Blue Origin launch, but photos of the Bezos and Sanchez at the Texas-based launch site have yet to circulate into the media.

This event was assumedly of importance to the couple as they allegedly grew closer after Bezos hired Sanchez to work on a project for Blue Origin last year.

In addition to being a television host, Sanchez is also a licensed pilot and owner of aerial film and production company Black Ops Aviation.

As time goes on, this pair will undoubtedly ease into the public spotlight as Bezos and Sanchez are reportedly as serious about their relationship as possible.

 #1 Moving Forward

Lauren Sanchez and Patrick Whitesell have secured celebrity attorney Laura Wasser to mediate their divorce as the two seem committed to a civil split.

Whitesell was supposedly unaware of the level of his wife’s displeasure in their marriage and her subsequent relationship with Bezos, but nonetheless he is reportedly ready to seek a respectful divorce.

Whitesell and Sanchez share a pair of children, thus further necessitating a courteous process for the sake of their kids.

Since news of the Bezos-Sanchez relationship hit newsstands, Whitesell has been seen dating model and travel blogger Keir Alexa.

Meanwhile, Jeff and Mackenzie Bezos are in the midst of coordinating the split of their estate.

The two have four children together and have publicly stated their intention to continue working together not just as business partners, but also as parents and friends.

So, in spite of what magazines may report, all signs point towards these four adults and their families moving on with their new lives.
