What if the ozone layer suddenly disappears?

we need the ozone layer  without it we're dead here's why  the earth is wrapped in layers of air  called the atmosphere  the stratospheric ozone is found in the  stratosphere  life couldn't exist without this  protective ozone which is also called  the ozone layer  humans would be wiped out quicker than  you can imagine  the ozone layer absorbs and blocks most  of the sun's uv  radiation the sun gives off light heat  and other types of radiation  too much uv radiation can cause skin  cancer cataracts and harm plants and  animals  ozone high in the atmosphere absorbs or  takes in some of the sun's harmful  uv rays before they reach the ground  without this barrier in place  all of the radiation would reach earth  damaging the dna of plants and animals  like us humans  we would cease to exist just by itself  the sun's rays can cause skin cancer to  everyone but we might not even have  enough time to watch that happen  the first week after the ozone layer  vanishes many plants would die in an  instant  the intensity of the sun's radiation  would make photosynthesis  impossible for all plants without plants  the food chain would  collapse herbivores would starve  omnivores and carnivores would feed off  the bodies for a time  but their food supply would dwindle and  cause widespread extinction  ozone isn't a very stable gas which  makes it very vulnerable to disappearing  or being reduced to its base elements  that's why the layer is being destroyed  but it can regenerate with time
