Number 10.

Starting Out

Singer of the popular hit single, "Havana", Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao was born in Havana, Cuba in 1997.

Camila's parents' names are Alejandro Cabello and Sinuhe Estrabo.

She spent her childhood in Cojimar in East Havana.

Alejandro was originally from Mexico City before he moved to Cuba.

Eventually, they decided to move to the United States and settled in Miami, Florida.

Camila was only five years old at the time, and she had no idea how to speak English.

Later on, she explained that she learned how to speak the language by reading cartoons and other television shows.

Luckily, she was able to learn quickly, according to a post she made on Instagram.

Camila went to Miami Palmetto High School before dropping out during her freshman year to pursue a career in music.

Despite leaving school, Camila earned her diploma at a later date.

Number 9.

The X Factor

What better way to pave a path for yourself in the music industry than to audition on one of America's favorite shows?

Camila auditioned for the television show The X Factor in 2012 when she was only fifteen years old.

Unfortunately for the viewers, her audition never made it to TV because the series couldn't get the rights to the song she performed, Aretha Franklin's "Respect."

Camila ultimately lost the show after being eliminated during the "bootcamp" stage in Miami, Florida.

But, luck was on Camila's side, and she - along with some other contestants, Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui , Normani, and Dinah Jane - were called back onstage.

Together, Camila and the other ladies formed the girl group Fifth Harmony, and they finished The X Factor in third place.

Number 8.

Swift Squad

Another extremely successful young lady who's been in the business for a while is Taylor Swift.

T-Swift and her besties were making headlines continually for a long time, but after the group seemed to split apart, at least a few friendships remained, including her relationship with Camila . Once upon a time, Camila was a Taylor Swift fan.

She recalled in an Instagram post that when she was in ninth grade, her classmate had just seen Taylor on tour and was excited that she got to touch her hand.

So, being next to the renowned pop star on stage was a surreal moment for Camila.

She even got to the accompany the "Love Story"

singer on her "Reputation" tour.

Over the past few years, these two have gotten to know each other very well, bonding over poetry and "girly things."

Taylor even threw Camila's eighteenth birthday party for her.

What makes their friendship even more adorable is that Swift's nickname for the "Havana"

singer is "Baby C."

Number 7.

Collabs

A large part of the reason Camila became super popular is that she collaborated with a lot of other artists.

A 2017 collab with DJ Cashmere Cat, called "Love Incredible," came out early that year.

She was also featured on Cashmere's first album, titled 9.

Camila also recorded "Hey Ma" with J Balvin and Pitbull for the soundtrack of the film The Fate of the Furious.

The English version of the song was released in April 2017 while the Spanish version came out a month earlier.

She also worked on the song "Know No Better"

with Quavo, Travis Scott, and Major Lazer.

Camila announced the release of her debut album in 2017 as well.

Some of this star's other collaborations are "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Shawn Mendes and "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly.

Number 6.

OCD

Something a lot of people might not know about Camila Cabello is that she has obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Just in case you aren't sure was OCD is: it is a chronic disorder that causes a person to have "uncontrollable, recurring thoughts and behaviors" that they feel the need to repeat continuously, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.

While discussing her diagnosis with Cosmopolitan UK, Camila said that nowadays she laughs about it.

The singer noted that everyone has unique ways of handling stress, and stress causes her to have repetitive thoughts and "feel like something bad is about to happen."

Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a form of anxiety and affects over two million adults in the United States - about one percent of the population.

Camila didn't talk about how she deals with her OCD, but she did say she was doing "much better."

She further stated that she feels much more control over it now than she did before, and is able to recognize when her OCD is taking over.

Number 5.

Fifth Harmony

Perhaps Camila Cabello gained the majority of her fame via her time with Fifth Harmony.

As previously mentioned, they formed after Cabello and the other girls initially got voted off of The X Factor during the "bootcamp"

round.

After becoming a group instead of solo artists, the girls finished the series in third place.

But, that was only the beginning of their careers.

Once the show ended, they signed a deal with Syco Music, which is owned by none other than Simon Cowell, and L.A. Reid's label, Epic Records, as well.

In 2013, they came out with the extended play titled Better Together, a fitting name for the experience they shared on national television.

Two years later, they released the album Reflections, and a year after that, Fifth Harmony came out of 7/27.

Those two records contained the hit singles "Work from Home" and "Worth It," which rose to the top ten on charts worldwide.

From 2013 to 2016, Camila and the group went on several tours together before she collaborated with Shawn Mendes on the track we already mentioned, "I Know What You Did Last Summer."

After that track and other collaborations became increasingly popular, Cabello was listed as one of the twenty-five "Most Influential Teens of 2016" by Time.

Later that year, Fifth Harmony announced that Camila was no longer part of the group.

But, their stories concerning why she decided to go solo remain somewhat of a mystery.

Number 4.

Harry Potter Fanatic Like so many of us Gryffindors, Ravenclaws, Slytherins, and Hufflepuffs, Camila Cabello is an enormous Harry Potter fan.

I mean, who doesn't wish they could explore the world of magic in a place as cool as Hogwarts?

Well, Camila took the leap and went to Oxford, England to see the various places where the movies were filmed.

She even stopped by the Christ Church College, where she decided to act out some scenes from the series.

When asked during a 2017 interview which character she relates to the most, she said, "Ron Weasley,"

everyone's favorite red-headed wizard… well, except maybe Ginny, George, and Fred.

Camila noted the reason is that he "kind of gets himself into situations, and he's kind of awkward."

Number 3.

Shawn Mendes

More recently, Camila has been getting attention for more than just her talent and stunning looks.

She's being noticed more and more for her romance with heartthrob Shawn Mendes, and you're going to get the details right now.

These two met in 2015 during the Los Angeles article Music Awards.

She was with Fifth Harmony back then, but she took the time to pose with Shawn at one of the after-parties.

Later that same year, they saw each other again at the Las Vegas iHeartRadio Music Festival, and they were both looking as adorable as ever!

That November, they released their famous collaboration and performed it on The Tonight Show.

Cabello even talked about working on the song together and how they were both so passionate about it, including how intense the experience was.

They performed the duet once again in December 2015 during the Los Angeles KISS FM Jingle Ball, and they were looking ever-so-comfortable on stage.

They even won the award for "Best Pop article and Fan Favorite" at the iHeartRadio Much Music awards in June 2016, and they accepted it together.

Fast forward to May of the following year, and Shawn tweeted sweet messages to Camila about her new song, "Crying in the Club."

But, later that year, it was reported that Shawn was dating Justin Bieber's now-wife, Hailey Baldwin, and hopes for the two seemed to disappear.

Number 2.

More Than Friends?

Despite the rumors that the two were official, Shawn and Hailey's relationship was never truly revealed to the public, and she married Justin Bieber less than a year later.

Shawn continued posting cute things on Cabello's social media pages, and told Zane Lowe in May 2018 that Camila was his "favorite person in the whole world."

He added that he didn't think there was anyone else out there that could "feel emotion like her."

Shawn further stated that Camila's love for what she was passionate about was so intense that he wrote an entire album from the inspiration he felt from her in a single night.

Around the same time, they both posed with their mutual friend, T-Swift, at 2018's Billboard Music Awards.

When February 2019 came around, the duo posted photos of them writing together before the Grammys.

A few months later, rumors of their alleged romance began circling more rapidly after they released the track "Senorita" and the intimate article they filmed for it.

Plus, Camila had just ended things with her then-boyfriend, Matthew Hussey.

Number 1.

Lovebirds

Both Mendes' and Cabello's mothers added fuel to the dating rumors by leaving heart emojis on one of Camila's posts of her and Shawn.

In July 2019, they were seen spending the Fourth of July together, looking ever more like a couple.

On August 9, 2019 she instagramed "Happy birthday to this magic human, I love you!!!"

On August 31, 2019 a fan posted a article of Mendes saying "...but it's not just me in the relationship, there's another person involved, and I can't say things that I feel.

It's not just me deciding, you know?".

In a September 5th interview with Elle magazine Camila stated "people can say whatever they want to say.

They can speculate, but at the same time, we are going to live our own lives, enjoy it, and fall for each other like nobody is reading...

I never want to open the door for people to feel like they are involved...

That's why I'm so tight-lipped about it: because I want to protect it."

Finally Shawn told fans in October 2019: "We have been dating since July 4th officially."
